Glenn Shulman a long time Laguna Hills resident needed help with his custom Laguna Hills home located in Nellie Gail Ranch. Glen had a pesky leak in his leaving room that he believed was the result of a roof leak around his large chimney or fireplace. We were one of the many roofers he found on Google and after all the opinions by all the experts he decided on hiring us to solve this problem for once and for all.

We began to repair Glen’s leak by completely removing all the roofing tile from around the area and carefully stacking aside the tile for later use, taking off and disposing the old flashing and roofing felt to completely expose the roof deck. By completely exposing the roof deck we can see exactly where the water is coming in from and solve this problem.

Unfortunately with this repair the chimney had been fixed by two previous South Orange County Roofers and they did a very sloppy job. With the Owner on the job this will not happen again. With the repair going a little slower than it should because of the previous sloppy repairs that need to be removed the owner was on the job and put on his belt and quickly joined the team in on the difficult removal process to keep the job on schedule to prevent extra charges to the home owner for the extra work.

After we removed the tile, the roofing felt, and roof flashing we were able to identify the leak source, clean the deck, pound down all protruding nails, and provide a permanent solution for this problem by installing a layer of Ice and Water Shield. Ice and Water Shield is a very thick and durable roof membrane that is super sticky on one side of it. You remove the release tape and apply it directly to the area you want to water proof and water will not be getting in there again. This is just one of the many benefits you get hiring us.

We take great pride in our work and it shows with every detail. This job was finished off with all flashing being hand painted and custom mortar work done where it was missing. I know it is easier, faster, and cheaper to just use some spray paint but that’s not how we do things. Everything is done to last a lifetime and our warranties are the longest and strongest in the business because of it.
